Death of a Poem

My words are aging
My metaphors mock at me
Now-a-days...
Letters, colons, commas
and spaces
kiss the surface of my soul
Like a ray of twilight
on the chest of ocean
I trusted my heart
to my pen and my poems
But they stripped
my deepest wound
in front of the world
Now My words are numb
And my poems are but lies....

Forgive my Brother

You toyed with my belief
You fooled me shrewdly
by saying you're my brother
And as a friendly gest
you stabbed your stained knife
on my back...
I was still smiling then.

You dipped your pen
in my blood that you stole
and wrote long poems
and petitions
and manifestoes
With letters as red as
Your heart is
And mine used to be

In bright months of april
my refuge has been in
dark lanes and blind subways
from your dead pale eyes
But the knife in your hand
knew its prey and found its mark
I laid down there
like an wasted poem
Or an unquenched thirst.

You'll lie here in my bed
One day and the stained knife
will be in some other hand
Like a broken trust
Or a lost love.
The knife is for none to own
We all are but slaves of knife

Lying down beside you then
I'll whisper in your deaf ears
"I trust you, still,fully,
My enemy, My brother"!!!

Enough

Enough of this passive emotion
And enough of these soft tunes
Where are my war trumpets
Let's go to war....

Enough of this sweet dreaming
And enough of these cold passions
Where are my guns and swords
Let's go to war....

Somebody stole my brother's blood
My mother's smile, father's job
Enough of these timid gloom
Let's go to war....

Thieves came and took my dreams
And in black robes returned them to me
Enough of these dark pretenses
Let's go to war....

My poems will speak for none
If they don't speak for all
Melt my love to make me a gun
Let's wage an war.....

Dream of April

Yesternight I had a dream
A dream I could almost touch
with my fading hands

I saw our laughs and cries
poems and kisses
of bygone days
flying away over the mountains
as the vale beneath bathed in rays

And the mountains
And its lively streams
And the stray gray clouds atop
were humming in their ways
The songs that we used to sing
in our bygone days

Come, my love, forget the winter
Let's lose ourselves in this world
of changing hues
Come sing
and dance
Step into a trance

Let's give the winter another chance........
